Have you ever attended a signing? If so, which was your favorite and why?
I will be attending my first book signing in February. I am super excited about the signing; it is in Sacramento on the Delta Queen. The Delta Queen is a historical stream boat.
Where are you from and where do you live now?
I grew up in Sisters, Oregon, a tiny town in the high desert of Oregon. Currently, I live in Central California.
Let’s be honest: we all do it. Which of your books is your favorite?
Well since I am writing my second book to the series that is a hard question to answer. However, I can say that I am way more excited about the second book.
What does your family think about your decision to become an author?
My little ones think it is glamorous. It’s funny to hear them talk to people about their mom being an author.
What is the craziest thing someone has said to you as an author?
I think that would have to be censored. Let’s face it writing romance can open you up to some extreme characters.
What is your number one pet peeve when it comes to stereotypical “author questions?”
It has to be the perception that your characters are based on someone. NO, I have not written anyone into a book. Well, Except for one character and that person is a willing participate to the development of her character.
What was your most intense interaction with a fan?
I once had a fan message me her reaction to my book while she read it. It was the best experience I have had as an author to date. It is one thing to have someone say they enjoyed your book when they are finished reading the story, but to have someone give you a play by play of their emotions, priceless.
Tell us about your writing ritual? What does it take to get you “in the zone?”
I write lounging on my couch with a bag of sunflower seeds. I choose to let the characters drive the story-line. I begin with three basic things: Main character’s names, the issue, and the fall out. The rest is written comes as the story progresses.
Where do you work and what does your space look like? Cluttered? Tidy? Anything whacky?
I typically will end up with a dog or two curled up in my lap.
If you could bring back one fashion fad from any point in history, what would it be?
Sliver Tab jeans… Where did they go?
What is your favorite genre to read?
I love to read romance and crime stories.
How do you unwind in your down time?
Well, I don’t typically have down time. Between working full time, managing three children, and writing. I am on the go 24/7, but when I say , “TIME OUT!”, I love to fish and go c camping.

Ok, ok, I will call myself out on this one. I would love to say half full, but I am really a half empty kinda person. I like to plan for the worst and expect the best. AND if the worst occurs then at least we have a game plan.

Feathers, LOL. Leather is meant for riding motorcycles ONLY!

What is your favorite period in history?
Let’s go with… 50’s. People were totally deprived, but they still had good morals.

BMW McLaren MP4. Yes, this is the same car in Fearing Love.
Favorite movie meant for someone under the age of 15?
If you are asking 15 year old Kay… she would say, “Friday”. If you are asking grown-up Kay she would say, “Hell NO! Friday is not appropriate for a 15 year old! Let’s watch anything Disney.”

Really? What a question for a reader/writer.
Each work I have read touches me in a different way. I can’t pick one.
